What’s the “value proposition” for BBB accreditation?
1. You Will Close More Sales: You can increase customer confidence and close more sales by telling potential customers that your company is BBB Accredited and committed to BBB Standards for Trust. (The attractive custom BBB Accredited Business plaque at your place of business conveys the same message!)
2. BBB Will Tell Potential Customers: The BBB Accredited Business seal appears in the masthead of your business’s BBB Reliability Report, identifying your company’s commitment to BBB standards and reassuring potential customers that your firm is trustworthy. Your local BBB provided over 1.25 million BBB Reliability Reports® during the past 12 months.
3. BBB Markets Your Business, Too: Potential customers frequently use the “Find a BBB Accredited Business” button at www.bbb.org to find a list of businesses by business category for any product or service that your business may provide. As a BBB Accredited business, your business appears on these lists. Over 430,000 of these BBB Accredited business lists have been provided by this area’s BBB during the past 12 months.
4. BBB’s Partnership With GOOGLE Makes More Connections for You: BBB has partnered with Google, providing Google with a link to your BBB Accredited Business Reliability Report® along with your BBB “join date.” Google search results involving your company name or key words related to your company usually return a link to your company’s BBB Reliability Report® high in the Google search results. Google also makes this link available through many “Google Local” and “Google Maps” search results that relate in some way to your company or industry.
5. BBB Will Link Potential Customers Directly To Your Website: Exclusively for BBB Accredited businesses, your company’s BBB Reliability Report® includes a live hyperlink to your company website. This allows potential customers viewing your BBB report to click the URL to come directly to your website.
6. Your BBB Membership Includes A Free Web Presence: Do you have a website? If not, you need one. And your BBB accreditation/membership includes a promotional Web page for your company on our www.WiseBuyingMall.com website. There’s no additional cost. If your company doesn’t have a website, this Web presence may be all you need. For a modest fee (domain name registrar companies charge about $15 annually to register and maintain a URL), you can register a URL and “point” that URL to your BBB-provided webpage, as BBB member Ken J. Buehner & Sons is doing with www.buehnerhvac.com. This helps potential customers find your business more easily in online searches and your customers will know that your business “has arrived” in the Internet age.
7. For Maximum Value, Put The BBB Seal On Your Website: Every qualifying BBB Accredited business may participate in the BBBOnLine® Reliability Seal program, at no additional cost. This allows your business to display the BBB Accredited Business seal on your company website. When properly installed on your website, customers may click the seal to see a “verification page” that confirms your BBB affiliation. (Most BBBOnLine® participants are amazed by the number of “seal clicks” that occur on their BBB Accredited Business seal and the impact this seal has on customer confidence in doing business with the company.)
8. Put BBB Seal In Your Advertising: Qualifying BBB Accredited businesses may use the BBB Accredited Business seal in company advertising, company documents, business cards, contracts, etc., at no additional charge.
9. You Get A Valuable Directory Listing: Your BBB Accredited Business is listed in the BBB Wise Buying Guide (a BBB version of the Yellow Pages, with 90,000 directories distributed annually to area consumers and businesses.) Listings are by type of business, with an index also provided alphabetically by company name.
10. Health insurance cost too much? The BBB has partnered with Bluegrass Family Health to provide an association health insurance plan for businesses with 2-50 employees. Bluegrass has agreed to provide a discount from their standard rates that is available exclusively to BBB Accredited businesses. Not all businesses will save on health insurance through this program, but this plan is another option to consider. Many BBB members are saving money on health insurance through the BBB’s association health insurance program.
11. BBB Members-Only “Hotline” To BBB Staff: BBB Accredited Businesses have direct access to BBB staff through a members-only private line, 502-583-1492 or 800-530-1492. Everyone affiliated with your business is welcome to use this private members-only number for any BBB service. You and your employees and family members, like everyone, are encouraged to use our website, www.bbb.org, to get a BBB Reliability Report on a business or charity, find a list of BBB Accredited businesses that provide any product or service you may need, file a complaint, or access a wide range of BBB consumer and business information.
